As we reach the time of year when we either enjoy or endure Christmas, Construction Network Ireland (CNI) wanted to remember the year that has passed and to recognise some of the great projects that have happened in 2016.
The last twelve months have been a momentous year for the industry, with the construction sector finally starting to see positive growth and the prospects of a better and more sustainable industry in the year to come, after what has been an incredibly difficult decade.
To celebrate all that is best in the industry in Ireland, Construction Network Ireland looked back on some of the best projects completed in 2016 and wanted to recognise the great work that is being done in Ireland, by Irish firms, for the Irish built environment.
In the run up to Christmas, CNI rolled out ‘12 Projects of Christmas’ to recognise the top projects of 2016. The projects were chosen by a crack judging panel which included Tom Parlon of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), Barry O’Dowd of IDA Ireland, and Claire Solon of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and kindly sponsored by the award winning Ethos Engineering.
A new project was launched and highlighted each day, amid pipers piping, lords a leaping and drummers drumming, with the final project revealed on December 23rd – the stunning Pearse Lyons Distillery.
We hope that you enjoy the 12 Projects of Christmas and that with a little luck and some help from Father Christmas, a project you worked on was on the list.
