An Bord Pleanála has refused planning on RGRE’s Waterfront Towers in Dublin’s Docklands.
The Waterfront South Central development would have involved two towers of 45 and 41 storeys along with a third 14-storey block, involving a total of more than 1,000 apartments.
The planning board ruled the plan complied with national planning guidelines and it would have granted permission but had to turn it down because the local Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) plan had height limits.
The board said it had to take this decision following a High Court decision concerning the legal standing of an SDZ.
